Transitions

McKenna graduated to her big girl bed 1 week ago. We were all so excited to change her crib to a toddler bed with rail and spent time playing in the bed before bed time. Mommy and Daddy showed McKenna how to climb in and out and McKenna LOVED it. Then...it was time for bed. McKenna said "I do it myself" and climbed right into bed. Looked like the transition was easy peezy. For McKenna anyway. After prayers and goodnight kisses and hugs, we walked out, shut the door...and mommy shed a few tears (her baby was growing up). Easy for McKenna, a little tougher for Mommy. McKenna did great her first night. Her second night, she fell out of bed twice and then she and Daddy slept together in the guest room for the rest of the night. We finally convinced her to sleep with her head at the other end of the bed (two year habit broken in 2 nights). Since then, McKenna is sleeping soundly in her "big girl bed" and loves it. And, mommy hasn't shed another tear.
